So, I am looking more and more at notions of power personified: Hercules is the hybrid progeny of a God father and mortal mother, a god-man who undertook a series of challenges to pay for his sins, which of course only increased his fame. This is an exploration of power as it becomes a force beyond morality, it becomes it’s own justification as spectacle.
I naturally feel that a gunpowder drawing, a destructive form of creation, lends itself to portraits of classical myths of powerful, these destructive icons.
